2019 Bingdao "Yellow Ocher" shou puerh
Lovely everyday shou puerh - smooth and warming...
The leaves were harvested Spring 2019 in Bingdao high-mountain range in Mengku region in Lincang, Yunnan. Bingdao translates to "Ice Island", the name is derived from the specific cooling sensation, a slightly minty afterbreath that teas from this area are well known for. These 357 gram ripe tea cakes (shou bing cha) were produced as a private order for Yougu tea house in Yunnan using medium to large leaves, giving it a somewhat softer, rounder, warming and comforting feel. Slightly woody aftertaste and sandy mouthfeel, in a pleasant sense. Brings to mind the subtle scent of dry tree trunks on forest floor that have been warmed by the sun.
