Traditional 'calebasse' gourd used for drinking yerba mate. Handcarved in Argentina.
Holds 190ml, made from organic gourd.
This gourd should be 'cured' before use by filling with (used or fresh) mate leaves, filling with hot water and leaving overnight / for 24 hours, dumping the leaves and scraping the insides with a metal table spoon to remove the pulp and seeds which taste very bitter. Repeat this process. The taste will smooth and enhance with use. Clean your calebasse only with hot water and don't leave the leaves for longer than a day so to avoid developing mold. If using daily, switch between two calebasses so to allow the calebasse to properly dry.
