Sencha Ayame
Sharp and refined...
A soft yet sharp and refined sencha with berry-like notes from Kirishima prefecture, Japan. This tea is made from the Asatsuyu cultivar (translated as "Morning Dew") of the tea plant, a cultivar that is used for making the world-famous Gyokuro tea and thus carries some of the similar delicate characteristics in this tea. Asatsuyu varietal is not very widely cultivated due to its low yield and tendency to fall pray for frost damage.
