2016 Bingdao "Golden Flake" shou puerh

These elegant 100-gram small cakes (‘bing’) hail from the Bingdao (literally ‘Ice Island’) county, in the mountainous Lincang region of Yunnan province. The trees were approximately 40 years old, an age when a tree begins to develop a strong and independent immune system and integrate itself solidly in its environment. This boasts a sweet and clear taste profile, a soft, silky texture and a pleasantly energising character.
