2022 Lincang "Muddy Waters" shou puerh

Smooth, woody and creamy ripe (shou) puerh from Yongde county in the northern puerh region of Lincang, Yunnan, China, around 2000 meters above sea level.These 100 gram tuocha, or "bird nests" as they are commonly called because of the shape, were pressed from a mix of spring and autumn leaves of 2022 from an arbor style tea garden managed by a small farmer cooperative. The harvests were blended to have large enough quantity for proper fermentation, which was done with spring water, fermented for 46 days under the supervision of elderly mister Yang who has been involved in fermenting puerh tea for over 50 years. The resulting tea has a lovely plum or mild date flavour and a warming glowing character. Brings all those lovely trips to the bog to mind.

Brewing tips: 5 grams per 200ml of 100C water, rinse, 1st steeping 1min, 2nd steeping 2min, 3rd steeping 2min etc.
