Exquisit red tea with a lingering candy-like sweetness!

This type of Chinese red tea is sometimes called "purple tea" after the purpleish hue on the freshly picked leaves and buds. The hue is caused by a genetic mutation which some high altitude tea plants in Yunnan undergo as a protective aid against the strong UV-radiation of the sun. Very often they are stunning teas with a lingering candy-like sweetness in the aftertaste and close to no astringency whatsoever. This particular tea is handpicked from 80 year old tea bushes in Fengqing area in Yunnan. It is slightly spicy, caramel- and almond-like with a citrus aftertaste.

Brewing tips: 3g / 200ml / 95-100C / I - 1min, II - 1-2min, III - 2-3min.
