This is an exciting rare experiment from Japan - red tea that has been smoked with Japanese cedar or Yakusugi as it is locally called. The dry smell of the leaf is almost too much, too intense and unusual, but the tea excells in the cup. This tea is all about the aroma, it raises to the nasal cavity and lingers in the mouth for ages. The flavour is sweet, sharp, warming and friendly, smoky with hints of coconut and vanilla, it fills your senses and is deeply satisfying. There's a very, very little hint to durian fruit. It's made in Shizuoka, Japan from Yabukita cultivar tea bushes. Try drinking it in smoke sauna!

Brewing tips: 3 grams of tea per 200ml of 95C water, 1st steeping 1-2min, 2nd steeping 2min, 3rd steeping 2-3min etc.
