The tea garden "Seeyok", or "Spring Valley", is located in the picturesque valley of Mirik in the west of the Darjeeling region, sloping between 1100 and 1800 meters above sea level. It was founded back in 1869 and converted to fully certified organic tea garden in 1995. The tea produced here is certified Fairtrade and close to 90% of the tea bushes are of original Sinensis cultivar brought over from China. The first flush Darjeeling harvested in March boasts with a special bouquet of floral aromas and intense bright coloured cup. Compared to our "Steinthal",the tea is lighter and more aromatic. Only single chest available.

Darjeeling, also often called the "Champaigne of teas" is one of the world-renowned teas of India. It is a lightly oxidized high-elevation black (or red, as the category is known in China) tea that has been produced for more than 170 years in the northernmost tip of West Bengal, just on the border with Nepal in Himalayan foothills. The early first flush harvest of the year is extremely floral, complex with delicate flavours, just the right amount of astringency and with hints of stone fruits, while the second flush is beloved for it's stronger body and specific muscatel flavour. Today Darjeeling is produced in more than 80 tea gardens that span together over an area of 190 km2. Ever since 1960s has been transported by air to preserve the exquisit freshness.

Brewing tips: 3 grams of tea per 200ml of 90-95C water, 1st steeping 2min, 2nd steeping 3-4min, 3rd steeping 3-4min etc.
