Fur Peak, red tea

Bold yet refined! Furry Peak is a pristine Dian Hong red tea from Yunnan, China. It is made from the tender young buds and firstmost budding leaves which balance pleasantly the dark, malty and bassy characteristics of Dian Hong red teas of the region. The buds and young leaves are covered with white downy hair which is common for some varietals of tea trees used for more premium Mao Feng grade teas - this influences the texture of tea. It's smooth and silky, slightly "furry" on the tongue. The flavour is smoky, reminding of dark plums and figs, with just the right amount of bitter touch we look for in our Dian Hong teas.

Brewing tips: 3 grams per 200ml of 95C water, 1st steeping 1min, 2nd steeping 1-2min, 3rd steeping 2-3min etc.
