An absolute rarity - a red/black tea from Japan! It balances lightness and the sharpness of a samurai sword!
Japan is known world-wide for its green tea production - sencha and matcha have found their way into hundreds of millions of homes across the globes. Red/black tea used to be part of their tea world too, until the 1960s. Nowadays only some 300 tea farmers in all of Japan produce red/black tea, and it accounts for under 1% of all tea production there. This delicacy comes from the beautiful Yakushima island in southern Japan and is a blend of two tea varietals: Yutakamidori and Asatsuyu. Lightly oxidized and with a gentle, fruity body, this a red tea for green tea lovers who sometimes want something with more muscle. EU organic.
