2011 Duoteli 1st grade "Six Castles" Liu Bao

Traditional Chinese fermented Liu Bao "Six Castles" black tea from Guangxi, China. This tea was produced by Wuzhou tea factory in 2011 under their Duoteli brand which has been on the market since the 1980's. This is their first grade tea (graded according to leaf size from one to four, with one being the smallest leaves). In the later drying and packing stage, the tea was compressed into large 40kg woven baskets. This is a traditional way of storing Liu Bao tea which is often accompanied by a lighter degree of fermentation, which we really enjoy with this tea. The contemporary market makes Liu Bao more in style of ripe puerh these days with heavier fermentation due to easier processing, thus it's lovely to drink a more old fashioned tea that has room for aging and developing with years in complexity. There's a lovely pine scent and a smooth herbal flavour and one can feel the befamed cooling effect of Liu Bao tea. Stored in Malaysia.
