2020 Three Cranes 1st grade Liu Bao
Traditional Chinese fermented Liu Bao "Six Castles" black tea from Guangxi, China. The tea was made by Wuzhou tea factory in 2020 under their Sanhe "Three Cranes" brand going back to the early 1990s. Crane is a important symbol in Chinese culture, here the three symbolize longevity, good fortune and prosperity. The tea is earthy and woody, thick and sweet. For this tea, 1st grade size leaves were used (1 being the smallest and 4 the largest), compared to our 3rd grade "Three Cranes" Liu Bao from the same year, it is thicker in body, more energetic, has a more round texture and is much sweeter, even a bit shou puerh-like due to the leaf size.
