Emerald Green (Fujian), Chinese green tea from wild-growth plants

Here we have a classic flavour amongst Chinese green teas, refined small-leaf green tea that is vegetal and nutty, sharp and strongly cooling, named after the beautiful dark green hue of the dry leaf. Handpicked in Jiangsu province from a wild tea garden where the plants grow from seeds and are genetically diverse. The plants are allowed to grow without much human interference, no pruning, no fertilizing, no agrochemicals, no nothing. This allows them to develop strong roots and a capacity to prevail hardship, resulting in a tea with a more lively, vibrant feeling and long lasting aftertaste. It's however not so common to find these sort of teas, especially amongst greens, as the yield is lower, harvesting is more difficult and there's a lack of uniformity in appearance and between seasons, a trait that the market generally highly appreciates.
