These small 100 gram cakes were made from leaves picked from Banzhang village, one of the most famous pu-erh villages today that rose to fame in the early 2000s. Banzhang, deep in South-Yunnan on the border with Birma, is known for it's bitter tea with strong energy. This tea cake with plentiful of sweet buds and smallest leaves is harvested from plantation bushes that lay 1600-1800 meters above sea level. The tea has sharp, domineering flavour and a lingering bitterness, strong hui gan, the minty Banzhang aftertaste. Hints of dark bitter chocolate and coffee can be felt. Indeed, it offers quite the kick for the drinker!
