Old-Growth Dancong oolong
This Mi Lan Xiang, "Honey Orchid Fragrance" oolong comes from Phoenix Mountain, 1500 meters above sea level in Guangdong province of China. Dancong means literally "Single Bush", referring to both the ancient local practice of harvesting, processing and selling tea from single plants separately, as well as the special varietals of the tea tree growing there having a single trunk and growing space apart from eachother, in a solitary fashion. Dancongs, which there are numerous of, are known as the "doppelgängers" of the tea world, imitating the aromas of different plants and fruits in a striking fashion. Our Honey Orchid oolong is from old-growth tea bushes that are over half a decade old (which is considered quite old for these tea tree varietals), the tea is light, highly aromatic, sharp, defined, comforting.
