Sencha Ayame Japanese green tea, organic

Soft but sharp and clearly drawn-out sencha green tea with a delicate berry-like flavour. Produced in Kirishima prefecture, South-Japan. Sencha Ayame is made from a tea bush variety called Asatsuyu (translated as "Morning Dew"), from which the world-famous Gyokuro tea is also often made - subtle nuances of which are felt in this tea as well. Asatsuyu is not very widespread in Japan as it fears cold weather and harvest yield is low - adding to the rarity and uniqueness of these beautiful leaves! Picked in April. Certified EU organic.
